Your Virtual Business Assistant - That Girl Tuesday

Why am I a Virtual Assistant?

I love being a Virtual Assistant - I have no hesitation in saying that and it’s a role I take very seriously and am hugely proud of. Why do I feel this strongly about it? Because I’ll never tire of seeing the positive impact that my work has on you - my clients. So, today I’d like to share a little more information about who I am and why I’m doing this.

After years of working in a variety of different businesses, here in NZ and over in London, England, I realised that the time was right for me to take the next step in my career. In-fact, not just the next step, but the biggest step I’d ever make professionally. Branching out, going it alone, reaching for the stars with my feet on the ground, and launching my own business.

Was it scary doing this? You bet it was. Leaving behind the security of full-time employment to run your own business is not for the faint of heart. Defining the company branding and philosophy was the easy part - I just needed to be true to myself to make a success of that. After-all, what’s the point in having your own business if it doesn’t allow you to be truly ‘you’ at all times while running it? Nope, it’s pretty much all the other stuff that can be daunting.

Finding clients, putting yourself out there for potential rejection, convincing people that a Virtual Assistant is for them, or even, in some instances, having to explain what a Virtual Assistant actually is; “No, being a Virtual Assistant doesn’t mean that I’m a robot or automated service. I’m an actual person, I promise” type conversations can be common. There are many preconceptions you need to overcome to make a success of this and I’m happy to say that I, and my community of fellow VAs, are getting better and better at breaking down those barriers of misunderstanding.

Another thing about managing my own Virtual Assistant business that’s both a positive and a negative is that there’s truly no 9-5. I like that fluidity as I often have inspiration strike out of nowhere at any given time of the day, but the fact that I’m sometimes still obsessively thinking about my clients, how I can serve them and achieve their hopes and dreams for their projects, at 9 or 10pm at night isn’t totally ideal for having a chilled, relaxed evening.

I live, breathe, eat, sleep and dream being a VA and you can trust and believe me when I say that as I don’t say it lightly. I want to be the best, do the best I can for my clients and represent That Girl Tuesday in the best ways possible, with integrity, excellence, and outstanding customer service.

I’m passionate about overcoming overwhelm and having positive mental health and energy and the joy I get from taking stress, hassle, tasks and challenges away from my clients - enabling them to live their best life - is immense. I’ll never tire of it.

TGT is a Virtual Assistant company, sure, and I offer admin, project management, online business management etc. services, but for me it’s considerably more than that. It’s a way of life, my business dreams coming true - enabled by the support of my wonderful clients - and a chance for me to share freedom, positivity, extra time to do the things you love, and all of the best things that life has to offer.

Often, my clients’ businesses are their life - they may have been in the family for generations, or are an important part of the local community. I truly get what that means to them, and it helps me to always ensure that at TGT I give my best to them as, whilst I’ve recently started out on my journey as a business, these are the principles that guide my every action.

So, again, why am I a Virtual Assistant and why have I created That Girl Tuesday? It’s about you, it’s about me, it’s about us - all that we can accomplish together, in any way big or small making our lives and worlds better, more enriching, successful and satisfying places to be. That’s the That Girl Tuesday philosophy, and I look forward to bringing a little ray of that sunshine into all of your worlds soon, if you’ll let me.

Thank you, Tuesday of That Girl Tuesday
